
That's likely just because of permissions, but you may want to do that as well. Some have found that it installs better if you first put the exe in the Gamedata folder. I recommend first giving it Admin permissions by right-clicking on it, navigating to the compatibility tab and checking "Run as Administrator" if you're using Win 7. This will enable the game to be able to use almost an infinite number of scripts, among other things, which allows it to accept mods, new maps and other customizations.
